The Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisor position, which performs the work and provides daily supervision for the maintenance department engaged in the operational maintenance of production equipment and facilities buildings/grounds.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan, schedule, supervise and perform routine and assigned work including but not limited to; preventive maintenance and repair work on vacuum/air furnaces, on HVAC and other building systems, and direct supervision of the maintenance employees
- Collaborate closely with Company President, Plant Manager and Production Supervisor to identify equipment problems and properly schedule the workload to handle issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure all vacuum, tool, devices, and other production equipment required calibrations are current and within industry standards
- Manage and maintain the maintenance and preventive maintenance programs and software (CMMS) for all electrical, mechanical and equipment repair, upgrades, and installation to ensure safe operation with minimum downtime
- Troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical issues related to vacuum furnaces and all other production equipment. Some of these repairs include equipment such as pumps, blowers, and diffusion pumps, plus graphite and all metal vacuum hot zones
- Manage availability and ordering of spare parts, maintenance and building supplies, plus other services related to production, building maintenance or grounds upkeep
- Coordinates with production, management, and other departments in scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize production interruptions or downtime
- Respond to off hour critical calls to resolve production equipment and building facilities issues

Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ facility maintenance experience in heat treating, metals or manufacturing industry production setting with familiarity of vacuum furnace repair
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and compliance standards (OSHA, ISO, ASM, etc.).
- Strong computer and software working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, Studio 5000 and Wonderware, plus ability to interpret and modify Ladder Logic diagrams with RS Logix
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret both mechanical and electrical schematic, blueprints, and technical journals, plus financial reports, and other legal documents
- Able to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance software products
- Strong pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical experience, plus prior work with PLC’s
Preferred Qualifications
- 4-year degree in electrical, mechanical or maintenance related field
- 2 plus years managerial level experience in heat treat or manufacturing role
- Extensive experience and knowledge of vacuum/air furnace equipment, pumps, hot zones, and other equipment used in a heat-treating environment.
