Job Description

International Registries, a global leader in Maritime and Corporate Registries with more than 28 offices worldwide, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior IT Business Analyst / Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team in Reston, Virginia.

**This is an in-person role 5-days a week, reporting to the Reston, VA office **

Role Overview

In this senior role, you will serve as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and the technical development team. You will drive requirements definition, influence solution design, and ensure delivery of high quality software that aligns with organizational strategic goals. This position requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead initiatives with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements discovery sessions with business stakeholders, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical specifications.
• Own the end to end requirements lifecycle, including documentation, refinement, prioritization, and change management managed in JIRA.
• Develop comprehensive user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and support documentation.
• Design and execute robust test strategies, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Oversee defect/bug management, ensuring issues are clearly documented, prioritized, and resolved in collaboration with development teams.
• Provide expert analysis of testing outcomes and recommend enhancements to improve product quality and user experience.
• Champion best practices in requirements management, QA processes, and documentation standards.
• Contribute to release planning, daily stand ups, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, QA Analyst, or hybrid BA/QA role within a software development environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in business process analysis, requirements collection, and translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Strong command of software testing methodologies, test planning, and execution.
• Proven ability to create high‑quality documentation, test cases, and defect reports.
• Hands‑on experience with requirements and defect‑tracking tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to anticipate risks and propose solutions.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑management skills, including the ability to influence decision‑making.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
• Experience with Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) and Cucumber‑style frameworks.
• Background in maritime, regulatory, or enterprise level systems is a plus.
