Compensation: $60,000 - $90,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Job Overview
The International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice (IMSMP) is seeking a Senior Medical Biller with extensive experience and strong technical knowledge of medical billing and insurance reimbursement processes. This individual will play a key role in supporting the financial integrity of the practice by ensuring timely and accurate claims processing, managing denials, and assisting with billing-related reporting and audits.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. They will collaborate closely with our established billing team and other departments to optimize revenue cycle operations and support our mission to provide exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit timely and accurate claims to private and public insurance payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans.
- Investigate and resolve denied or unpaid claims, including appeals, resubmissions, and corrections.
- Analyze denial trends and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Review and verify accuracy of billing codes (CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of payer policies and reimbursement procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient accounts and billing data.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and company information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform other related administrative and billing tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in medical billing and claims processing, and insurance followup, preferably in a specialty or highvolume practice.
- Certification in medical billing and coding preferred (e.g., CPC, CPA, or equivalent).
- Indepth knowledge of CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of insurance authorization, reimbursement, and denial processes.
- Experience working with EMR and billing systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Clear written and verbal communication abilities; comfort communicating with payers and providers.
- Attention to detail and strong problemsolving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible, punctual, and reliable.
