Position Overview

TRATON Research & Development (R&D) is undergoing a major transformation to establish a strong, global Group R&D organization. We are looking for a new Unit Head for EE Process & Methods US within Systems Engineering, who wants to join the Group R&D change journey.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the development and maintenance of E/E & SW methods, processes, and guidelines along the V-model
• Responsible for coaching and providing user support, facilitating effective implementation and usage of these methods, processes, and guidelines
• Build and provide competence in handling and maintaining coupled management systems, ensuring alignment and integration across the development lifecycle
• Support the process to design, build and optimize section capacities and capabilities
• Safeguard ways of working and principles on a unit level (based on global guidelines) and manage escalations within the unit as needed
• Support Global Section Head to plan resources and capacity within scope
• Disciplinary leadership of a team
• Take responsibility for personnel management within local units including recruiting, hiring, sourcing, staffing, developing and replacing personnel

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 6 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
• At least 3 years of lead experience

OR

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
• At least 3 years of lead experience

OR

• PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 4 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience
• At least 3 years of lead experience

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering – or a comparable field
• Proven experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on product development, process, methods and tools, and agile methodologies
• Skilled in interface management and effective communication with international stakeholders
• Confident, assertive leader with strong strategic thinking and a proactive, goal-oriented mindset
• Customer-focused, with a holistic approach to problem-solving
• Collaborative team player with enthusiasm for cross-functional and cross-brand work within TRATON Group
• Structured, improvement-driven personality committed to continuous development

Salary : $164,000 - $246,000
