Position Overview

We’re a team of diverse and talented people looking for innovators to help transform the commercial vehicles of the future. We are currently seeking a Engineer Senior - TRATON R&D US, LLC to join our Product Development team.

This is an exciting time in the trucking industry, with trends toward electrification, autonomy, and connectivity shaping the next generation of commercial vehicles. As part of our engineering team, you will play a key role in developing innovative solutions that influence future truck designs and technologies.

This is an onsite position located in Lisle, IL.

Responsibilities

• Create design concepts and validation plans to meet program, system, and component requirements
• Create and release designs using NX and International systems
• Utilize industry-standard engineering quality tools, such as APQP, to ensure robust designs
• Manage all project aspects from concept through launch within the context of larger programs
• Serve as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing teams as products move into production and distribution
• Support concept development, design, and release of new products while assisting with current product issues, CAD model creation, and print generation in an NX/Team Center environment
• Support supplier-requested changes and resolve quality and design issues under the guidance of experienced engineers
• Create DFMEA, DVP, and validation plans for engineering designs
• Develop release schedules and overall timing plans to support program deliverables throughout the product development lifecycle
• Provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members
• Research and design new products and systems based on customer needs
• Modify existing products or processes to improve vehicle performance using CAD and CAE tools

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with government-regulated systems (e.g., FMVSS, CMVSS, etc.)
• Project planning and recovery experience
• Presentation skills across multiple organizational levels
• Experience in truck or automotive design and development preferred
• Experience designing parts for injection molding, reaction injection molding, and/or compression molding preferred
• Experience using Unigraphics UG-NX2 or other CAD-related modeling software
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution

Salary : $84,800 - $127,200
