Position Overview

International is looking to add an Category Manager-IT

Indirect procurement plays a vital role in maintaining business continuity across the entire organization. The indirect procurement team is responsible for identifying suppliers that support a multitude of services that include but not limited to capital equipment and investment, IT hardware/software, consultative services, logistics and distribution, maintenance and repair, marketing and human resources.

As an Category Manager-IT, you will ensure alignment with organizational goals and market trends, working within their specific field of responsibility. A successful category manager will develop and implement a strategic sourcing roadmap, supplier negotiations, driving cost reductions, supplier performance management and negotiating and executing agreements. The role involves coordinating global procurement strategies across our Traton and Volkswagen group of brands with a strong focus on North America.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies to meet organizational goals
• Supplier Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance while ensuring compliance with standards and contractual obligations
• Cost Reduction: Identifying and executing opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Contract Negotiation: Securing favorable terms and conditions through effective contract negotiations
• Global Coordination: Aligning procurement strategies across different regions and business units within Traton and Volkswagen
• Innovation and Sustainability: Driving initiatives that promote innovation and sustainability within the procurement process
• Market Analysis: Research and benchmark market trends specific to your category to understand and effectively communicate cost drivers

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 1 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

• Master’s degree

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams efficiently
• Ability to read, understand, and execute commercial agreements and contracts
