Radnostix, formerly International Isotopes, Inc. (INIS), is seeking a highly motivated and capable individual to fill a radiological controls technician position. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide radiation protection to the radiation worker, the general public, and the environment from the effects of ionizing radiation through supervisory, administrative, and/or physical control, utilizing sound health physics principles in compliance with federal regulations and license conditions as well as accepted industry practices. Mitigate hazards associated with radioactive material, adhering to the "as low as reasonably achievable" philosophy.
Job duties include performing routine and special radiological surveys, interpreting the results of these surveys and informing the Operations Supervisor and Radiation Safety Officer of abnormal conditions or trends. They will also prepare and maintain complete, concise and legible records of all related radiation control technician activities.
Pay is based on experience. Candidate should have 1 years’ experience in the operational radiation safety, individuals without the necessary experience may perform the RCT function under supervision. Associates degree or Certificate in Radiation Safety or Physical Science desired. NRRPT registration desired. Basic understanding of the natural laws of ionizing radiation, the mechanism of radiation damage, methods of detection, and hazards assessment.Ability to effectively communicate. Pursuit of NRRPT registration encouraged.
