We’re hiring a Food & Beverage Operations Trainer to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

 

Job Summary:Facilitate and support the professional development of the Food and Beverage (F&B) Department.

 

The Details:Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay: $19.75 per hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Housing: Eligible for a private room in a shared apartment for $267 per month

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact to facilitate F&B training programs.
  • Facilitate food and beverage department orientation and compliance training (e.g. TIPS, ServSafe and Cash Handling) and additional related training topics for new and transferring employees.
  • Collaborate with other trainers to facilitate new employee orientation weekly.
  • Collaborate with F & B leadership to review, develop and execute training strategy including schedules, content and assessment by leveraging learning tools for in-person, self-paced and virtual learning formats.
  • Support learning initiatives by collecting data.
  • Manage relationships with F & B leadership by communicating updates on current and upcoming projects.
  • Assess training effectiveness through observation, program evaluations and analysis and enhance training presentations as needed.
    • Identify gaps and develop tailored solutions.
  • Track and manage in learning management system to ensure required compliance training does not lapse or expire.
  • Develop training calendars, visual aids, teaching aids, and class outlines.
  • Present a positive and welcoming demeanor to all new staff, maintaining an enthusiastic delivery of training materials to represent the department and company in an encouraging manner.
  • Provide technical support to F & B departments in resolving system issues when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possess excellent facilitation skills with the ability to effectively adapt training delivery across various mediums (in-person, blended, and remote), tailoring content to audience needs while considering cultural, technological, and learning style factors.
  • Must have or ability to obtain trainer certification for ServeSafe Food Handlers, ServeSafe Manager, and TIPs alcohol awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong organizationals skills.
  • Front of House (FOH) and Culinary experience preferred.
  • Must have a passion for learning and a genuine desire to help employees succeed.
  • Work independently in an organized and productive manner to completed assigned projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient with learning management systems (e.g. Symphony and L3) desired.
  • Ability to acquire a valid driver’s license within 30 days of hire and adhere to the Xanterra Company Vehicle Policy.
  • Ability to promote and comply with Xanterra Core Values.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Constantly stand, walk, handling, reach outward, lift/carry up to 20 lbs, and push/pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently sit, reach above the shoulder, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry 21-50 lbs, and push/pull 26-40 lbs. 
  • Occasionally climb, crawl, lift/carry 51-100 lbs, and push/pull 41-100 lbs.
