What are the responsibilities and job description for the Library Media Aide position at Intermediate?
The Instructional Aide for Library Media and Keyboarding serves a dual role in supporting the school’s literacy initiatives and technical skills curriculum. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Library Media Center and the direct instruction of keyboarding and foundational digital literacy skills.
Core Responsibilities
I. Keyboarding Instruction & Digital Literacy

Curriculum Delivery: Lead scheduled keyboarding sessions, teaching proper hand positioning, typing ergonomics, and speed/accuracy development using specialized software.

Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on student typing proficiency, setting individualized goals to improve Words Per Minute (WPM) and accuracy rates.
II. Library Media Operations

Collection Management: Oversee the circulation desk, including the checking in/out of materials, shelving books according to the Dewey Decimal System, and performing minor book repairs.

Curation & Display: Maintain an inviting and organized library environment; create thematic book displays to encourage student engagement and diverse reading habits.
