What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Interior Designer position at Interiors for Business, Inc.?
The Mid-Level Designer will work within the full scope of a project. From development and finding solutions for our clients to onsite execution in ensuring we’re delivering top quality results. The Designer will need to have a solution driven mindset, keen sense of detail, be team-oriented, exhibit a high level of professionalism, and be well versed in how to prioritize tasks as they join this thriving and dynamic design team.
A day in the life of a Mid-Level Designer may have them doing tasks such as:
- Co-leading client tours, presentations, and work sessions
- Site visits, field verifications and inventories
- Space Planning and design concept collaboration including color palettes for furnishings and interior finishes
- Creating renderings, drawings & compiling final deliverables
The position requires a high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and be flexible, strong organization and time management skills, presentation skills that deliver a great understanding of the project, and ability to perform well in a team environment.
The Designer will be on project teams that will have a variety of skilled backgrounds and working with a team of designers who support each other and are always there to encourage success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience working in interior design; commercial is a plus but not required.
- NCDIQ or equivalent certification is nice to have, but not required.
- Software savvy with experience in software similar to AutoCAD, CET Designer, Project Matrix, or Bluebeam. Must have experience in Microsoft 365.
Life at IFB
The Designer will work 4 days out of our Batavia, IL location and 1 day remote. It’s likely during the week, they’ll find themselves on site at client locations depending on current projects. Typical hours are 8a – 5p, with some flexibility.
