Role Overview

The Interior Designer plays a key role in leading and executing residential design projects from concept through installation. This position is responsible for developing design concepts, managing project details, sourcing materials and furnishings, and coordinating with vendors, contractors, and clients. The ideal candidate brings a strong design point of view, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of a project with confidence and independence, while collaborating closely with the broader design team.


Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the development of design concepts, mood boards, and client presentations
  • Produce and oversee design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and renderings
  • Develop space planning solutions and furniture layouts with a strong understanding of scale and function
  • Translate client needs and vision into cohesive, well-executed design solutions

Sourcing & Materials

  • Source and specify furniture, finishes, fabrics, lighting, and accessories aligned with the project vision
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, showrooms, and suppliers
  • Oversee material selections and ensure consistency across all design elements
  • Manage and contribute to the organization of the studio’s material library

Project Documentation

  • Prepare and manage detailed design documentation and specification packages
  • Develop FF&E schedules, procurement lists, and budgets
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings, specifications, and project records
  • Track design revisions and maintain alignment with project scope and timelines

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure seamless project execution
  • Oversee ordering, tracking, and delivery of furnishings and materials
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and installation logistics
  • Proactively identify and resolve project challenges

Client & Studio Engagement

  • Lead and participate in client meetings and presentations
  • Communicate design concepts and updates clearly and professionally
  • Conduct site visits and oversee installation and styling
  • Support photoshoots and final project detailing


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Typically 4–7 years of residential interior design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit
  • Strong experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • In-depth knowledge of material specifications, construction detailing, and furniture sourcing

Salary : $6,500 - $78,000
