About Us
Interior Surface Enterprises is a leading commercial flooring contractor serving the Kansas City metro from our home base in Olathe, Kansas. We partner with general contractors, building owners, and end users to deliver quality flooring installations on time and to spec. We're growing, and we're looking for a sharp, detail-driven Estimator/Project Manager to help us win work and see it through to completion.
The Role
As our Estimator/Project Manager, you'll own projects from the first set of plans to the final walkthrough. You'll build accurate bids across all commercial flooring types, chase those bids to a decision, and keep awarded jobs on schedule by coordinating with general contractors, end users, and suppliers. If you like the precision of a good take-off and the satisfaction of a well-run job, this role offers both.
What You'll Do
Estimating
- Prepare estimates for commercial projects across all flooring types, including carpet, resilient, LVT, tile, and specialty flooring
- Read and interpret architectural plans and specifications to define a clear scope of work
- Perform accurate take-offs and calculate precise material quantities
- Follow up on submitted bids and track outcomes through to award
Project Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for general contractors, end users, and suppliers on your jobs
- Coordinate materials, scheduling, and installation to meet construction deadlines
- Keep projects on track and communicate proactively when issues arise
What You Bring
- Experience estimating and/or managing commercial flooring or interior finish projects
- Ability to read architectural plans and specifications with confidence
- Excellent math skills and close attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable juggling multiple bids and projects at once
- Experience with Measure Square take-off software is a plus; we'll train the right candidate
