Position Overview
The Assistant Buyer will play a key role in supporting the procurement process for staging projects, assisting with both administrative tasks and hands-on sourcing of products. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy in data entry, and a keen eye for design. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing efficiency with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Purchasing team in sourcing and ordering staging-related items such as furniture, artwork, lighting, textiles, and accessories.
- Enter purchase orders, invoices, and inventory data accurately into company systems.
- Maintain and update vendor information, price lists, and product catalogs.
- Track orders, deliveries, and returns to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Support communication with vendors, negotiating order details, and resolving discrepancies when needed.
- Coordinate with the Staging and Operations teams to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Conduct market research to identify new products, vendors, and trends that align with company standards.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient inventory and warehouse process.
- Provide administrative support including filing, scheduling, and preparing purchasing reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Interior Design, or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in purchasing, buying, or administrative support (experience in staging, interiors, or design industry a plus).
- Strong computer and data entry skills (Excel, Google Suite, or ERP / purchasing software).
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and internal team collaboration.
- Aesthetic sensibility and interest in design trends.
Salary : $58,000 - $60,000
