Job description:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our Shipping and Receiving Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting material goods to and from vendors, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport materials, supplies, and goods between two company buildings as needed.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods to meet departmental schedules and operational demands.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Inspect vehicle before and after trips to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Collaborate with the shipping and receiving team to coordinate schedules and prioritize deliveries.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies during driving and while handling materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department manager.
- Ability to perform work using our Syteline System.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a shipping/receiving or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lb)
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment: This position requires the driver to operate vehicles outdoors, frequently moving between buildings and potentially making deliveries. As such, the driver will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions year-round. Arizona’s climate includes extreme heat during summer months, occasional rainstorms, and variable temperatures during other seasons. Candidates must be comfortable working in these outdoor conditions for extended periods of time and should be prepared to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated and wearing appropriate protective clothing.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
