What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Marketing position at Intercambio Uniting Communities?
For more than 25 years, Intercambio has empowered adult learners through high-quality English language education and community-based programming. Like many successful nonprofits, our work is sustained through a combination of philanthropic support and earned revenue, including nationally recognized curriculum, training, and educational resources.
Today, Intercambio is at an exciting inflection point and is poised for significant growth. As we launch an innovative online learning platform and expand our national reach, we are seeking a strategic, results-oriented marketing leader to help grow our student base nationwide while increasing awareness and sales of our curriculum, professional training, and related educational services. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of a mission-driven organization with a proven track record, a growing national presence, and an ambitious vision for impact.
The Assistant Director of Marketing serves as Intercambio's strategic marketing leader, partnering across Programs, Product Sales & National Network (PSNN), Development, and leadership to strengthen the organization's brand and support growth. This role combines strategy and execution while leading integrated marketing initiatives that increase awareness, enrollment, customer engagement, fundraising visibility, volunteer recruitment, and earned revenue. Partner closely with Programs, PSNN, Development, Operations, Executive Leadership, and external contractors to coordinate marketing priorities and execute organization-wide initiatives.
The ideal candidate thrives on building things, thinking strategically, solving problems, and measuring results. You enjoy both strategy and execution, embrace innovation and AI, and believe marketing should create measurable organizational impact. Most importantly, you are passionate about helping more learners, volunteers, educators, donors, and partner organizations discover the life-changing work of Intercambio.
This position is full-time (36 hours per week) and reports to the Chief Products & Programs Officer. This role is expected to work on-site in our Boulder and Longmont offices approximately two days per week and remotely.
