Our client is seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to join their growing Telecommunications Engineering team. This role plays a key part in supporting large-scale telecommunications infrastructure that enables essential operations, expands broadband access, and supports long-term network innovation.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design of moderately complex to complex telecommunications infrastructure, including shelters, huts, power systems, and conduit layouts
- Design and plan transport solutions for new and existing telecom sites (fiber optics, microwave, cellular, etc.), with cost considerations in mind
- Serve as the technical lead on capital projects, acting as both project owner and subject matter expert
- Develop and maintain a strategic technology roadmap, accounting for industry trends, upgrades, and obsolescence
- Identify system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and mitigation strategies
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on infrastructure design best practices
- Maintain deep knowledge of engineering standards, systems, and telecom infrastructure
What You Bring
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- 8 years of engineering experience in telecommunications or related field
- Proven ability to lead projects and provide technical direction
Preferred Experience
- Telecom shelter and tower design/deployment
- Designing telecom transport infrastructure (fiber, microwave, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of R56 grounding standards
- Expertise in NEC and NESC codes
- Experience working with telecom carriers and/or electric utilities
- Familiarity with FAA & FCC licensing/permitting, including NEPA
