Senior General Superintendent
Northern Virginia | Healthcare Construction
Our client, a nationally recognized construction and development firm with more than 60 years of industry success and an international presence, is seeking a Senior General Superintendent to support the continued expansion of their healthcare division throughout the Northern Virginia market.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned construction professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and can drive both project execution and team development. The ideal candidate is more than a field leader. They are a mentor, strategic partner, and operational presence capable of influencing long-term regional growth.
The organization is currently mobilizing for a $300M hospital project, along with several major healthcare pursuits anticipated to break ground in the near future. This role will play a critical part in establishing and scaling the company’s healthcare footprint across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site field operations for large-scale healthcare construction projects
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and field personnel across all phases of construction
- Conduct contractor and safety meetings while enforcing company and site-specific safety protocols
- Oversee project scheduling, sequencing, logistics, and Time & Materials (T&M) tracking
- Partner closely with Project Executives and senior leadership to ensure successful project delivery
- Mentor and develop field staff, assistant superintendents, and future operational leaders
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 15 years of experience leading large-scale vertical construction projects
- Proven experience delivering healthcare projects valued at $100M
- Strong leadership background with demonstrated success mentoring and developing teams
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Proficiency with scheduling and construction management software
- Strong communication, organizational, and operational leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting complex healthcare or hospital construction programs
- Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification
- Proven safety-first mindset and project track record
- Existing healthcare industry relationships or regional market connections preferred

Salary : $200,000 - $240,000
