Junior Product Designer - New York City, NY
Hybrid - 4 days in office
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Junior Product Designer who is passionate about creating thoughtful, high-quality digital experiences. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to design scalable, user-centered solutions while contributing to and evolving our design systems.
You’ll be hands-on in Figma, comfortable working across a range of project sizes, and confident balancing execution with strategic thinking.
What You’ll Do
- Design and prototype user experiences of varying complexity using Figma, applying the right design system components at the right time
- Contribute to planning and mapping user flows, journeys, and end-to-end experiences, identifying research opportunities along the way
- Create, maintain, and help govern design systems and component libraries, promoting consistency and best practices
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting effort and timelines appropriately
- Explore multiple design solutions and approaches to solve user and business problems
- Take initiative to move work forward, communicate clearly, and escalate issues when needed
- Anticipate potential challenges and proactively propose solutions
- Deliver polished, detail-oriented designs that align with both user needs and business goals
- Identify inconsistencies in user journeys and advocate for improvements
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and communicate design decisions effectively
- Advocate for quality, accountability, and alignment across teams, contributing new ideas and solutions when opportunities arise
What You’ll Bring
- 6 years of experience in UX design, with a strong focus on interactive and visual design
- Demonstrated experience planning and mapping user flows, journeys, and research opportunities
- Strong expertise in Figma, including component-based design and prototyping
- Familiarity with Figma Make (AI capabilities within Figma)
- Experience working with design systems in regulated or complex environments such as fintech, financial services, healthcare, SaaS, or insurance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks and general direction on new projects
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, user experience, design, human-computer interaction, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Advanced degree preferred
Salary : $58 - $63
