Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Facilities Technician III who is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the organization's facilities, systems, or equipment. This person will:
Ensure work is performed in a timely manner, and triage requests to prioritize the most critical repairs
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance or as-needed repairs on facilities or systems, which may include mechanical or electrical systems, HVAC or other environmental management systems, generators or power management systems, or fire/safety systems
Make repairs and coordinate the work of specialists when more complex repairs are needed
Schedule maintenance or repairs to minimize disruptions to organizational operations wherever possible
Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
May act as a lead
What You Will Do
Comply with Company safety procedures at all times
Support laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
Respond to and troubleshoot maintenance requests involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement
Perform all scheduled maintenance as established in x5 (client’s CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System)), and provides input into new maintenance schedules as equipment/facilities are added or changed
Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
Implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce costs and improve reliability
Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test rooms, test cells and facilities
Maintain boiler(s) where applicable
Maintain kitchen equipment such as ice makers, dishwashers, coolers, etc
Direct and work alongside contractors, as needed
Set up tables and chairs as well as conference room setups
Move and set up workstations/offices
Maintain the facility’s water softener system
Submit purchase order requisitions for parts
Ensure facilities comply with all environmental policies and procedures
Assist in activities related to internal and external environmental audits
Respond to emergencies and support after-hours facility needs and activities as required
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Maintain building and grounds as needed
Obtain powered industrial truck certified training within a year
Obtain refrigerant handling certifications in a timely manner
Maintain effective communications across all departments
Monitor and operate the client’s Building Management System (BMS).
Utilize x5 for work order and PM (Preventative Maintenance) management.
Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
Minimum Qualifications
Two-year Associate degree in maintenance-related subject matter
4 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification
Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
