Job Title: Agricultural Packaging Sales
Position Summary
The Agricultural Packaging Sales is responsible for leading sales efforts, driving revenue growth, and expanding market presence for the company’s agricultural packaging portfolio. This role manages key customer relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and works closely with operations, product development, and supply chain teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions to growers, distributors, and agricultural processors.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow agricultural packaging sales within assigned territories or markets.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across farming operations, produce packers/shippers, nurseries, and agricultural supply distributors.
- Manage a pipeline of prospects and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
- Prepare and deliver value-driven sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals.
Account Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and annual program reviews.
- Analyze customer needs and recommend the most effective packaging solutions, leveraging the company’s product range and technical capabilities.
- Monitor customer performance, usage trends, and service requirements to ensure operational excellence.
Product & Market Expertise
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the agricultural packaging industry, including materials, sustainability trends, regulations, and competitor offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams on product development, customization, and innovation to meet customer needs.
- Provide ongoing market intelligence to leadership, including pricing trends, emerging technologies, and new market segments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and service performance.
- Coordinate with marketing on promotional tools, product literature, and market-specific campaigns.
- Support forecasting and inventory planning to align product availability with seasonal demand cycles.
Performance Management
- Track sales metrics, analyze performance, and prepare periodic reports for leadership.
- Develop and manage annual sales budgets, including revenue goals and expense planning.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of sales experience in agricultural packaging, agricultural products, or packaging manufacturing/distribution.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of agricultural supply chains and packaging applications (e.g., corrugated packaging, plastics, bulk bins, protective packaging).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze data, understand market trends, and develop actionable strategies.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfortable with frequent travel to customer sites, farms, and distribution facilities.
Working Conditions
- Field-based role with regular travel (up to 50–70%) depending on region and customer locations.
