Job Title: Optical Engineer
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 9 Months
We are seeking an Optical Engineer to develop and validate next‑generation optical technologies for near‑eye displays (NEDs), imaging systems, projectors, cameras, and sensing platforms. This is a highly hands‑on, research‑driven role focused on optical experimentation, system development, and early‑stage technology innovation for wearable applications.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience with optical experiments on an optical table
(holographic optical elements, interferometry, microscopy, volume Bragg gratings)
- Proven experience building and integrating optical systems
- Research background in display systems, imaging, or optical sciences
- MS or PhD required in Optical Sciences, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent research experience)
Good‑to‑Have Skills
- Material processing experience (e.g., photopolymers, film lamination)
Expertise in one or more of the following:
- Vacuum‑assisted casting
- Conformal coating on non‑planar or curved substrates
- Photopolymer processing
- Programming/scripting experience in Python and/or MATLAB
Salary : $70 - $85
