The ideal candidate has strong EE fundamentals, extensive lab experience, and a background in consumer electronics or wearable devices, with particular emphasis on power, battery, charging, and system‑level measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own hardware validation efforts for wearables systems, including defining test plans, coverage, and pass/fail criteria
- Perform system‑level electrical measurements and analysis across power rails, regulators, batteries, charging paths, and load behavior
- Execute hands‑on lab debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, power meters, DMMs, logic analyzers, and related instrumentation
- Conduct failure analysis for electrical issues such as component failures, battery degradation, charging anomalies, and system‑level faults
- Review and evaluate schematics and PCB layouts, identifying issues and recommending improvements
- Review and approve product prototypes, working models, and simulation‑based models
- Create functional specifications, test procedures, and design trade‑off documentation
- Support new technology introduction (NTI) and NPI / manufacturing validation activities
- Provide technical guidance to technicians, designers, and other engineering support staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., EMC) and support certification activities
- Deliver high‑quality validation results, documentation, and clear cross‑functional communication
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with hands‑on validation and lab debugging experience
- Strong proficiency with electrical lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters, electronic loads, etc.)
- Proven expertise in system‑level electrical analysis and troubleshooting, including power integrity, transient response, noise, efficiency, and stability
- Experience with high‑density rigid/flex PCB designs and system integration
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a track record of driving issues to root cause
- Experience working on consumer electronics, wearables, or highly integrated systems
- Familiarity with automated test systems or scripting (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
- Working knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements (EMC, electrical safety, etc.)
- Basic embedded software understanding, including reviewing logs or code for debugging
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing validation methodologies for battery‑powered wearable systems
- Experience building automated characterization setups (power profiling, regression tests, long‑run stability testing)
- Experience supporting NPI/manufacturing validation and translating lab results into production test strategies
- Exposure to SoC bring‑up, sensor integration, or wireless/audio/display subsystems
