Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various healthcare settings, including critical care, long-term care, and acute care environments. This role requires effective team management skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing services provided to patients.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation.
- Provide guidance and support in the administration of medications, IV infusions, and other treatments.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss patient care issues, staff performance, and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in utilization review processes and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
Skills
- Proficient in EMR systems, including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks.
- Strong clinical knowledge in areas such as critical care, pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health.
- Experience with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classification, and utilization management.
- Familiarity with various medical procedures including catheterization, phlebotomy, suturing, airway management, and infection control practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team management and staff development.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities and senior care patients.
- Strong assessment skills for evaluating patient needs and developing appropriate care plans.
