Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Auditor to lead and support integrated, risk-based internal audits across financial, compliance, operational, and information systems functions. This role is responsible for mentoring junior audit staff, reviewing audit work for quality and accuracy, and ensuring successful audit delivery from planning through reporting. The position requires strong analytical ability, leadership skills, and experience working across cross-functional teams in dynamic business environments.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and support all phases of integrated risk-based internal audits, including planning, execution, and closing across financial, operational, compliance, and IT areas
• Supervise staff auditors on audit engagements and special projects
• Perform detailed peer reviews of work completed by staff auditors to ensure quality and compliance with audit standards
• Conduct system walkthroughs, control testing, substantive testing, and analytical reviews
• Document audit procedures, evidence, and findings in automated workpaper systems
• Identify root causes of audit issues and provide practical, actionable recommendations for improvement
• Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and management at all levels
• Conduct interviews with business leaders and operational teams
• Perform data analytics on subsidiary financial and operational data using audit tools
• Support external auditors with documentation and collaboration as required
• Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
• Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise professional judgment in all assignments
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
• Minimum 4 years of progressive auditing and/or accounting experience
• Proven experience leading audit processes from planning to completion
• Experience training, mentoring, and supporting junior audit staff required
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, compliance, and risk assessment frameworks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required for collaboration with global and cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to work independently while fostering a team-oriented culture
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally
Preferred Skills:
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification (or active pursuit of certification) strongly preferred
• Experience in public accounting assurance or advisory practice (Big 4 or reputable regional firm highly valued)
• Experience in publicly traded companies
• Experience in manufacturing environments
• Practical ERP experience, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Experience in IT auditing, compliance, SOX, or corporate governance
• Knowledge of GAAP, IPPF, and COSO Internal Control Framework
• Data analytics experience with Arbutus, ACL, or similar tools
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills
• Multilingual abilities (Spanish or Portuguese) considered an asset for international business coordination
