There are millions of e-commerce businesses around the world, and the industry is growing each year. Yet achieving profitability has never been harder. Costs are rising, it’s more tricky to acquire customers, and they have to run with lean teams. As a result, the vast majority of them guess about things like how to price their products, what discounts to offer, whether to charge for shipping, and what content they should show on the site, leaving 6–10% of potential profit on the table.

Intelligems is a profit growth platform that helps these entrepreneurs succeed and find all of that extra profit. The platform provides e-commerce merchants with a wide range of A/B testing and personalization tools to help them understand their data, run experiments, and price dynamically. We’re taking technology that has previously been available only to the Amazons and Ubers of the world, and making it available to e-commerce stores of any size.

We have excellent traction. We’re working with 2,000 brands and have access to more than $10B of transaction and shopping session data. As we enter scaling mode, we are looking for highly talented individuals to join us and help us continue to scale efficiently.

About The Role

We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and help run the operating system of the company.

This is an IC-heavy role with significant leadership exposure. You’ll act as an extension of the CEO — owning execution across core company rhythms, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring clarity, accountability, and follow-through across the organization.

This is not an executive assistant role. We already have EA support in place. This role is strategic, operational, analytical, and hands-on.

We’re looking for someone excited to be in this role for at least 2–3 years, with flexibility in how it can evolve over time based on company needs and individual strengths.

What You’ll DoRun the Executive Operating System

• Own the cadence, structure, and quality of leadership team meetings
• Build agendas, decision logs, follow-ups, and accountability mechanisms
• Ensure leadership meetings result in clear decisions and action
• Own and evolve company-level operating processes (e.g. OKRs), with explicit authority in defined areas
  
  

Board, Investor & Executive Communications

• Partner with the CEO on board decks, investor updates, and executive memos
• Draft and refine written communications, sometimes sending on the CEO’s behalf
• Ensure executive narratives are clear, consistent, and grounded in data
• Support fundraising preparation as needed
  
  

Strategic Projects & Cross-Functional Execution

• Own or drive special projects that sit on the CEO’s plate
• Take ambiguous problems, structure them, and push them to completion
• Coordinate across teams when initiatives span multiple functions
• Know when to “call the play” vs. when to recommend and influence
  
  

Data, Reporting & Strategic Finance Partnership

• Own or significantly contribute to company-level reporting and dashboards
• Ensure the right data reaches the right leaders at the right time
• Work very closely with the Head of Strategic Finance on:
• Strategic initiatives
• Analysis and planning
• Board- and investor-facing reporting
• Be highly hands-on in Excel; willing to learn SQL and go deeper into data systems

AI, Automation & Leverage

• Make AI and automation a core part of how the company operates
• Identify workflows, reporting, and processes that can be automated or improved using AI tools
• Prototype and implement solutions that increase speed, quality, or insight
• Help leadership teams adopt AI-enabled ways of working as we scale

• Exceptional written and verbal communicator
• High-agency operator with a strong bias toward getting things done
• Comfortable representing the CEO in meetings and communications
• Strong grasp of business fundamentals and what matters in a SaaS company
• Highly analytical; advanced Excel skills required
• Excited to learn SQL, AI tools, and modern data systems
• NYC-based and excited to work in person regularly
  
  

Backgrounds We’re Excited About

• Training in consulting, finance, or strategy, and/or
• Operating experience in a high-growth startup environment
• Prior experience working closely with senior leadership is a plus

• Chasing down inputs shortly before a board deadline
• Cleaning up a messy spreadsheet no one else wants to touch
