Project Manager – Solar Construction
About the Opportunity
The Project Manager will be based out of a U.S. headquarters location and will join a growing project management team supporting utility-scale solar projects.
In this role, you will coordinate closely with internal teams, contractors, inspectors, consultants, local jurisdictions, and other stakeholders to successfully deliver projects. You will oversee projects from permitting through construction closeout and handoff to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.
This position is responsible for budget management, scheduling, contracting, and procurement coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute contractor agreements aligned with project specifications, budgets, and schedules
- Manage project cost accounting and budgets to minimize financial risk
- Oversee drawing takeoffs, estimating, and subcontractor agreements
- Coordinate all aspects of project execution including equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors
- Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong communication with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project owners
- Identify and resolve drawing conflicts and coordinate with consultants and site teams
- Manage project closeout including commissioning, training, warranties, and O&M handover
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, and change order processes
- Coordinate scheduling, procurement, inspections, and contractor mobilization with site teams
- Lead and develop direct reports where applicable
Qualifications
- 4 years of project management experience, ideally within utility-scale renewable energy or solar construction
- Experience working with general contractors is a plus
- Strong knowledge of solar construction processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and construction execution
- Proficiency with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
