Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior PCB Layout Engineer with strong expertise in Altium Designer, multilayer PCB design, and RF/mixed-signal applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex PCB layouts while ensuring manufacturability, performance, and compliance with engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize complex multilayer PCB layouts, including 8-layer board designs.
- Collaborate with hardware, RF, and systems engineers to integrate mixed-signal and RF circuitry into PCB designs.
- Perform PCB floor planning, component placement, routing, and layout optimization.
- Generate manufacturing deliverables, including Gerber files, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and complete PCB documentation.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Ensure compliance with design rules, signal integrity, and manufacturing requirements.
- Support PCB integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners and vendors to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) best practices.
- Conduct design reviews and Design Rule Checks (DRC) to ensure quality and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in PCB layout and design.
- Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer.
- Hands-on experience with multilayer PCB designs (8-layer or higher preferred).
- Experience with RF PCB layout techniques and RF power amplifier/pallet designs.
- Strong understanding of mixed-signal PCB design principles.
- Experience creating manufacturing drawings and electronic documentation.
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with DFM, DFA, and industry-standard PCB design practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or high-reliability electronics environments.
- Knowledge of signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, and high-speed PCB design.
- Experience supporting PCB prototypes through production release.
