Senior Design Engineer – CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE

Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer with strong hands-on experience in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE to support mechanical product design and New Product Development (NPD). The ideal candidate will have expertise in Generative Shape Design (GSD), complex surface and solid modeling, assembly design, GD&T, production drawings, and engineering change management.
The role requires strong mechanical design fundamentals and the ability to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain complex 3D mechanical models using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Create complex surfaces using Generative Shape Design (GSD) and integrate surface and solid modeling techniques.
- Develop mechanical parts and assemblies while ensuring proper fit, form, function, and manufacturability.
- Create and update detailed engineering and production drawings, including GD&T and dimensional requirements.
- Perform design modifications and engineering changes based on product requirements, manufacturing feedback, and design reviews.
- Manage and support ECR, ECO, and ECN activities while maintaining accurate engineering data and configuration control.
- Support NPD activities from concept and detailed design through production implementation.
- Review designs for manufacturability, assembly, performance, and compliance with applicable design standards.
- Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to resolve design and build issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams.
- Maintain design data and documentation within applicable PLM processes and systems.
- Support continuous improvement and optimization of existing product designs.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5 years of mechanical product design experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Strong experience with Generative Shape Design (GSD) and complex surfacing.
- Proficiency in 3D solid modeling and assembly design.
- Experience creating production drawings and applying GD&T.
- Experience with engineering change processes such as ECR/ECO/ECN.
- Experience supporting New Product Development (NPD).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Springfield, Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in marine, boat, yacht, automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or consumer product design.
- CATIA V5 experience in addition to CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Experience with complex Class-A or advanced surface modeling.
- Experience with PLM systems and engineering data management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing/production environments.
- Experience working with customer-specific design standards and specifications.
What We’re Looking For
The strongest candidates will demonstrate recent, hands-on CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE experience, particularly in GSD/complex surfacing, along with strong mechanical product design fundamentals. Candidates should be capable of taking designs through 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings/GD&T, engineering changes, NPD, and manufacturing support.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
