R&D Human Factors Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA (Onsite)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced R&D Human Factors Engineer to support the development of innovative healthcare products. In this role, you will lead human factors and usability engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring products are safe, intuitive, and meet user and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead human factors and usability engineering activities for hardware and software product development.
- Plan and execute formative and summative (validation) usability studies.
- Develop Human Factors documentation, including usability engineering files, task analyses, and usability risk analyses.
- Apply user-centered design principles to improve product usability and safety.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Design, Regulatory, and Quality teams throughout product development.
- Support regulatory documentation related to usability engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of Human Factors/Usability Engineering experience (10 years preferred).
- Experience working in a regulated industry; medical device experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design, usability testing, task analysis, and human factors principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
