Position Summary

We are seeking a Project HSE Specialist to support a facility decommissioning and demolition project. This individual will serve as the on-site safety representative, partnering with project leadership and contractors to ensure safe execution of demolition, dismantling, waste management, and construction-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project safety planning, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation activities.
• Conduct field safety observations, inspections, and audits.
• Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and verify JSAs/JHAs, energy isolation plans, and critical safety controls.
• Monitor high-risk activities including LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, work at heights, rigging, excavation, and heavy equipment operations.
• Investigate incidents, support corrective actions, and maintain safety documentation.
• Oversee construction and demolition waste handling and disposal activities.
• Collaborate with contractors and project stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction safety, HSE, or contractor oversight experience.
• Experience supporting industrial demolition, decommissioning, construction, or manufacturing projects.
• Strong knowledge of fall protection, LOTO, excavation safety, rigging, and other life-critical safety programs.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and incident investigation processes.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work full-time onsite for the duration of the project.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Industrial hygiene and environmental/waste management experience.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification.
• CHST, ASP, or CSP certification preferred.
