Position Details:
- Job Title: R&D Principal Human Factors Engineer
- Location: Milpitas, CA
- Job Type: Contract
- Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in Human Factors/Usability Engineering
- Medical device or other regulated industry experience
- Strong expertise in user-centered design and human factors engineering
- Experience conducting usability studies, task analysis, usability risk analysis, and validation testing
- Knowledge of human performance principles (cognitive, perceptual, motor, anthropometric)
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including R&D, Design, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Education:
- Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Cognitive Psychology, or Biomedical Engineering with significant Human Factors coursework
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Human Factors strategy across the product development lifecycle
- Plan and execute formative and validation usability studies
- Develop usability engineering documentation, task analyses, and risk analyses
- Identify user needs and translate research findings into product improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, design, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance and enhance user experience
