We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounting Assistant to support our finance team with daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to gain hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting processes in a professional business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities
- Record and process financial transactions, including:
- Customer invoices and payments
- Vendor invoices
- Employee expense reports
- Enter, update, and maintain accurate information in the accounting ERP system
- Monitor and follow up on overdue customer accounts
- Support month-end close activities as needed
- Assist the Estimation team with part builds in the ERP system
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
- Support the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with documented procedures
- Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, clerical, or data entry roles preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. and rarely up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, and carry materials
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the role
