Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Weld Inspector for our metal fabricating client to start immediately at $30-$36/hr DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!
Responsibilities:
The Weld Inspector role supports all operational activities focused on enhancing safety, quality, and overall performance by applying continuous improvement practices and identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Act as a driver of change, working effectively across all levels of the organization. This individual should be comfortable challenging existing processes and possess strong communication skills.
- Perform weld testing for both new and current welders to achieve certification and/or recertification.
- Inspect and evaluate welded joints during production and on completed units to ensure quality standards are met. This includes assessing visible defects, dimensional accuracy, joint strength, bead formation, weld penetration, and compliance with blueprints and work order specifications, using knowledge of welding principles and metallurgy. Detect flaws such as cracks, cold welds, spatter, and undercuts using appropriate inspection tools.
- Investigate non-conformances and communicate findings and product dispositions to relevant team members.
- Conduct advanced inspections for internal defects such as cracks and porosity using magnaflux and ultrasonic testing equipment, when certified.
- Perform or coordinate stress testing of welds, review results, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Verify proper alignment, dimensions, and setup of equipment, fixtures, and machines during production.
- Observe and assess welder techniques and performance both in-shop and in field environments.
- Identify defective materials or welds, recommend disposition actions such as rework or scrap, and document findings.
- Prepare and submit quality control documentation as required by customers or management in a timely manner.
- Record inspection data across receiving, machining, and welding processes.
- Review and interpret radiographic (x-ray) images of welded joints.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as rapid improvement events.
Location: Oak Creek, WI
Schedule/Shift Details: 7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday-Friday
- Overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- 5–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within fabrication environments
- Demonstrated success contributing to high-performing teams and achieving measurable results
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office
- Project management and leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- The role requires regular communication, including talking and hearing. It is physically active and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the workday. The ability to lift and/or move items exceeding 50 pounds is frequently required.
