Responsibilities:
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support equipment and facility operations in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and facility maintenance. This position plays a key role in keeping equipment functioning efficiently, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring smooth facility operations to support production.
- Perform both routine and complex repairs and maintenance on diesel-powered production equipment and hydraulic systems
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on manufacturing machines and facility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, and facility-related issues, recommending and implementing solutions
- Replace, repair, and calibrate components to ensure reliable performance
- Perform general building maintenance such as lighting, HVAC assistance, minor plumbing, painting, and basic structural repairs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date service and maintenance logs
- Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic devices, and measuring equipment safely
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and equipment diagrams
- Monitor machinery performance and assist with identifying process or maintenance improvements
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental guidelines and standards
- Provide support and mentorship to less experienced maintenance staff when needed
Location: Greenfield, IN
Schedule/Shift Details: Monday-Friday
- Typical start time is 3AM with 8-10 hour days
- Overtime as needed, some Saturdays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical diploma or certification in Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulics, Industrial or Facility Maintenance preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and facilities within an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance for both equipment and facilities
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and general facility issues
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Knowledgeable of standard manufacturing and safety practices
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined areas
- Must successfully complete safety training such as:
- Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO)
- Working from Heights
- Confined Space Entry
- Forklift and Manlift Operation
- Crane Inspection procedures
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Skills:
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Basic electrical and PLC troubleshooting
- Certifications such as ASE, HVAC, or other mechanical/hydraulic/facility credentials
