Staff Accountant Heartland Financial Group Blue Springs, MO Job Summary Heartland Financial Group, an Integrity company in Blue Springs, MO, is looking for an Accountant to join the team. At Heartland, the Accountant manages financial processes and daily tasks, including reconciling bank statements, updating expense files, processing financial transactions, and posting them in the general ledger. They also compile reports, conduct month-end and year-end close, assist with audits, and prepare tax documents. Primary Responsibilities: Accurately prepare financial statements. Organize and update financial records. Reconcile balance sheets. Prepare documentation for external auditors. Maintain and update accounting files and records. Analyze budgets and create expense reports. Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger, e.g., by assets, liabilities, and expenses. Reconcile bank statements. Analyze transactions for review with internal and external stakeholders. Conduct month-end and year-end close. Prepare and file tax returns. Recommend ways to reduce costs and generate revenue. Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Primary Skills & Requirements: A High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required. 3 years of accounting experience is highly preferred. BA/BS in Business or Accounting is preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Effective and engaging communication skills, verbal and written.
