Safety Specialist

i3 is seeking a Safety Specialist knowledgeable in OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and work procedures for multiple i3 locations.

• Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Ensures and monitors compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, conduct risk assessments, and lead preparedness training programs to safeguard employees and organizational assets during emergencies and disasters.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Required

• Minimum 2 years of relevant occupational health and safety experience.
• Experience with company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Experience developing and implementing emergency management and disaster preparedness plans.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct training.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Must be willing and able to travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Forklift certified.
• OSHA, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certifications.
  
  
  

Physical Requirements

• May require occasional lifting, standing, walking, and climbing.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
