i3 is looking for a FEA Analysis Engineer to support our growing team in Huntsville, AL.

- Performs finite element analysis for review, characterization, and validation of mechanical structures and mechanisms in a variety of domains.
- Assimilates technical information from numerous sources and develops models with a high degree of precision.
- Uses calculations, Monte Carlo sensitivity analyses, and engineering judgement to evaluate the applicability of models to real-world effects.
- Prepares technical reports to document and clearly communicate potential failure modes and propose design solutions.
- Performs trade studies to evaluate alternative design concepts and clearly communicates reasoning and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in a related field is required. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess FEA technical expertise to preprocess, mesh, run, and evaluate results of multi-body and muti-material assemblies in static and dynamic modes. Experience with thermal and/or aerodynamic simulation preferred.
- Experience operating major commercial FEA and meshing software packages required. Experience with Ansys preferred.
- Experience working for a government organization preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Existing Secret or higher clearance preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Knowledge of office administration and procedures.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Regular i3 hours are 800 a.m. - 500 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
