IT Support Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Support Technician will provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of our organization's computer systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and maintain desktops, and support end-users both remotely and on-site.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS

REPORTS TO: IT Manager

SUPERVISES: None exercised in this position

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems related to operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
• Assist users with VPN setup and connectivity issues to ensure secure remote access.
• Utilize ticketing systems ensuring timely resolution.
• Document solutions and create knowledge base articles for common technical problems to enhance team efficiency.
• Perform regular maintenance on IT equipment, including updates and patches for operating systems.
• Provide training and support to end-users on software applications and best practices in computer networking.
• Provide on-call support as needed.

Upon receiving the necessary training and/or instruction, performs other related duties as required or assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

·        Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or similar IT role

·        Proficiency with Windows and macOS environments

·        Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and remote support tools

·        Strong problem-solving and communication skills

·        Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Candidates selected will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Additionally, a background clearance will also be conducted, which may include re-evaluation every 3 years.
