Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to patients during admission of patient to perioperative setting, and while recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety during the recovery process. This role requires a strong understanding of post-operative care protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments, testing, and patient education.
- Deliver care during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with surgeons,
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including pain management and recovery progress evaluations.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care, including wound care and activity restrictions.
- Document all patient interactions and medical information accurately in electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure continuity of care and address any complications that may arise.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to aseptic techniques during all patient interactions.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in various nursing settings, particularly in perioperative care or critical care environments. Preferred qualifications include:
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical documentation practices.
- Experience in acute care settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or surgical units preferred.
- Background in orthopedics, podiatry, and/or pain management is a plus.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems for patient management and documentation is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills alongside compassion for patients undergoing recovery processes while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and AORN standards.
Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
