We are hiring a High Throughput Purification Specialist on a contract basis for our Boston R&D Hub in Cambridge, MA. This role will support a team of medicinal chemists working on pepProduct drug discovery programs. Primary responsibilities include the purification, quality control, and registration of pepProduct libraries and singleton samples prior to submission for biological assays. The ideal candidate will have experience with high throughput, mass directed preparative Waters HPLC systems and analytical UPLC instrumentation in an industrial environment. Familiarity with Client instruments and Biotage Extrahera is considered a plus.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with medicinal chemists to manage sample queues and prioritize purification requests across multiple projects.
• Execute purification of diverse pepProduct libraries using optimized conditions to deliver high purity products with rapid turnaround times.
• Maintain chromatograms, spectra, purity analyses, and associated records throughout the workflow—from crude materials to final samples—for ELN documentation.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the high throughput purification platform, as well as open access preparative and analytical UPLC instruments used by medicinal chemists.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to good laboratory practices.
Qualifications
• B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong understanding of fundamental principles of chromatography and mass spectrometry.
• 1–2 years of experience with high throughput purification workflows and automated purification systems supporting drug discovery or medicinal chemistry efforts.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical issues.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
