Job Title: CT Technologist
Location: Manhattan, NY 10011
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)
Schedule: (1) 8 am to 4 pm (5 days a week)
(2) 4 pm to 12 am (5 days a week)
(3) 12 am to 12 pm (3 days a week)
(4) 12 pm to 12 am (3 days a week)
Pay Rate: $75/hr **Negotiable rate for travellers**
Note:
- STIPEND IS ALSO PROVIDED TO THE CANDIDATE LIVING MORE THAN 50 MILES FROM THE FACILITY.
- REFERRAL BONUS ON EACH SUCCESFUL REFERRAL.
Duties:
- Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to insure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment in order to ensure the equipment is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed.
- Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
- Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems in order to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Performs quality control, quality assurance and safety tests. Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
- Maintains and develops and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1 day prior to use.
- Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration.
Skills:
- Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols in order to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
Requirements:
- Requirements include licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist, ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, and BLS certification.
- At least 2 years of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technologist.
- Required: New York State License (L.R.T.), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and current CT certification).
