Integrated Process Engineers & Constructors, Inc. (IPEC) specializes in engineering, design and manufacturing of modular process systems for the pharmaceutical, biotech, beverage and food industries. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanical Designer (MD). This is a salaried position that pays $60,000-$90,000/year depending on education and experience.
The MD will work in the Project Engineering Group at IPEC and report directly to the Production Engineering Manager. The MD’s primary duties will be to develop 2 & 3D equipment models, utilizing SolidWorks CAD design software, create fitting and raw material bills of materials for procurement and fabrication drawings for IPEC’s fabrication department.
Responsibilities:
· Developing initial design concepts for mechanical systems, working closely with Project Engineers.
· Knowledge of engineering design principles.
· Utilize SolidWorks as the primary design software to perform applicable drafting work in the department.
· Prepare 3D concept drawings, prototype drawings, and production drawings for projects.
· Generate bills of materials for raw materials and fittings.
· Working closely with other engineers and customers.
· Improving designs, based on performance, cost and manufacturability.
· Creating and maintaining detailed design documentation.
· Research equipment, methods, systems etc. and make recommendations to improve productivity, engineering, quality and safety.
· Understanding of the manufacturing processes.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Two year associates in mechanical design/engineering or equivalent experience.
· SolidWorks experience and experience in design of food, beverage, chemical or pharmaceutical equipment is preferred.
· Knowledge and familiarity with technical specifications
· Ability to understand/produce technical drawings.
· Strong computer and communication skills.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
You should be proficient in:
· Blueprint reading
· Product design experience
· SolidWorks and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
