Quality and Population Health Data Analyst

Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia
Harrisville, WV Full Time
POSTED ON 9/9/2026

Quality & Population Health Data Analyst

Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia (IHCWV) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving Doddridge, Pleasants, Ritchie, and Wood counties through primary care, behavioral health, dental, telehealth, and school-based health services. We're looking for a data analyst who wants to work at the intersection of data and patient care — someone who understands (or is eager to learn) how healthcare quality measures, clinical workflows, and federal reporting requirements shape the numbers, not just someone who can build a dashboard.

This role sits inside our Quality department and works daily with clinical and administrative teams to turn organizational data into better patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Collect, aggregate, and analyze organizational data to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) — including preventative screening rates, chronic disease management, and patient satisfaction
  • Build clear data visualizations and reports to support leadership decision-making
  • Improve data quality, write queries against structured and unstructured data, and support data governance
  • Support accurate, timely completion of state, federal, payer, and grant-related quality reporting (HRSA, Medicaid, SAMHSA)
  • Analyze trends to identify risks, performance gaps, and opportunities for proactive intervention
  • Help maintain dashboards for real-time monitoring of program outcomes

Process and Quality Improvement

  • Develop workflows that support data-driven decisions and operational efficiency
  • Train and guide staff on quality standards, data management, and population health
  • Support improvement planning — assessments, timelines, and deliverables
  • Incorporate person- and family-centered practices through outcome evaluation and feedback
  • Apply quality improvement methodologies such as PDSA cycles, root cause analysis, and process mapping
  • Partner with clinical and administrative teams to improve service delivery
  • Monitor adherence to clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices
  • Draft and revise quality-related policies, procedures, workflows, and data definitions

Collaboration and Support

  • Participate in committees and workgroups focused on quality initiatives
  • Align data-driven strategies with organizational goals across programs
  • Support grant reporting and program evaluation
  • Conduct special projects as assigned by the Chief Quality Officer
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of protected health information in accordance with HIPAA

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related health field
  • 2 years of experience working with healthcare data — in a health center, hospital, public health agency, or similar clinical/health services setting (this is a must-have)
  • Working knowledge of healthcare quality measures such as UDS, HEDIS, or NQF
  • Experience with an EMR/EHR system (querying, reporting, or data extraction)
  • Experience extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on data; qualitative and quantitative research experience a plus
  • Understanding of population health concepts and how quality measures connect to patient outcomes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and visualization tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and similar)
  • Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and take a project from concept to execution
