Role Description
The Director of Investments is a senior investment professional responsible for designing, implementing, and managing client investment portfolios. Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), the Director plays a central role in shaping the firm's investment platform, delivering customized portfolio solutions to clients, and producing high-quality client-facing materials. This individual combines deep technical investment expertise with strong communication skills and a client-centric mindset.
Client Engagement & Portfolio Customization
Participate in prospect and client meetings, presenting portfolio strategies, market views, and performance results with clarity and confidence.
Tailor portfolio recommendations to each client's objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, tax considerations, and long-term goals.
Serve as a trusted technical resource to advisors and clients, translating complex investment concepts into actionable guidance.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a credible, polished representative of the firm's investment capabilities.
Client Marketing & Investment Communications
Lead the creation of client-facing marketing materials, including pitch books, portfolio summaries, and thought leadership pieces.
Author timely investment updates, market commentary, and quarterly reports that reflect the firm's views and positioning.
Partner with marketing and compliance teams to ensure content is accurate, compelling, and consistent with the firm's brand and regulatory standards.
Develop educational content to help clients understand portfolio strategy, market dynamics, and the role of alternatives.
Investment Platform Oversight & CIO Support
Support the CIO in the ongoing management, governance, and enhancement of the firm's investment platform.
Contribute to asset allocation decisions, manager selection, and investment committee discussions.
Assist in developing and maintaining the firm's investment policies, procedures, and research framework.
Help oversee the day-to-day operations of the investment team, including mentoring junior analysts and coordinating research projects.
Assist in managing key vendor partner relationships.
Required Qualifications
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or demonstrated progress towards
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline (advanced degree such as MBA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in investment management, wealth management, or a related field.
Proven track record of building and managing multi-asset portfolios for private clients, institutions, or both.
Strong working knowledge of portfolio construction, capital markets, asset allocation frameworks, and investment risk management.
Skills & Attributes
