Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Health Care Consultant to join our team and drive impactful solutions within the healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting child care providers in developing and complying with the health care plan requirements according to the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations. Your energetic approach will help foster strong relationships and enhance the health and safety of children throughout Oswego County.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and feedback to current and prospective registered/licensed/legally exempt providers/programs in the development or renewal of a Health Care Plan.
- Address medication administration errors.
- Conduct site visits of child care programs at initial registration/licensing/enrollment, at renewal, and as required following programmatic changes.
- Monitor the status of providers’ certifications for CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration Trainings (MAT).
- Maintain monthly statistical reports.
- Report suspicions of Child Abuse and Maltreatment as mandated by NYS OCFS.
- Provide technical assistance to child care providers to include a review of health care policies and procedures, medication practices documentation, and records of MAT authorized staff.
- Attend statewide/regional NYS OCFS meetings and trainings as requested by Executive Director.
- Provide internal communication with regulatory staff in regards to child care providers.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid New York State license to practice as a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse and 3-5 years experience.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of educational, experiential, and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer, database, and data report skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Knowledge of NYS child care program modalities preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
Pay: $40.00 per hour
