Position Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, supporting audits, and providing analysis to aid in decision-making. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations.
• Review and analyze financial results, identifying variances and trends.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist in overseeing accounts payable processes as needed.
• Support tax filings, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex transactions.
• Participate in system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Acumatica).
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial analysis tools.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes

• Prior involvement in process improvements or system implementations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and provide financial insights.

Location: Lakewood California (with option for Anaheim office, Spring of 2026)

Workplace: Onsite

Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 per year

Education and Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required.
• PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications welcome

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
