Medical Assistant - Corrections

Please Note: This position involves working directly with incarcerated individuals in a secure facility setting.Job Duties:

• Provide direct patient care within scope under the supervision of licensed nursing staff or providers
• Take and document vital signs, medical histories, and assist with health screenings and assessments
• Support with wound care, specimen collection, and minor procedures
• Assist with medication administration and chronic disease management
• Accurately document patient encounters in EMRs
• Maintain safety and adhere strictly to security and confidentiality protocols
• Work collaboratively with custody staff and clinical teams

Requirements:

• Active Medical Assistant certification or MA Diploma
• Current BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 6 months of recent clinical experience (corrections or psych experience a plus)
• Comfortable working in a correctional or high-security environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions
