Please Note: This position involves working directly with incarcerated individuals in a secure facility setting.Job Duties:
- Provide direct patient care within scope under the supervision of licensed nursing staff or providers
- Take and document vital signs, medical histories, and assist with health screenings and assessments
- Support with wound care, specimen collection, and minor procedures
- Assist with medication administration and chronic disease management
- Accurately document patient encounters in EMRs
- Maintain safety and adhere strictly to security and confidentiality protocols
- Work collaboratively with custody staff and clinical teams
Requirements:
- Active Medical Assistant certification or MA Diploma
- Current BLS certification (AHA required)
- Minimum 6 months of recent clinical experience (corrections or psych experience a plus)
- Comfortable working in a correctional or high-security environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in all interactions
