Responsibilities
Assist insulation installers with measuring, cutting, and fitting insulation materials according to project specifications. Prepare work sites by cleaning, organizing tools, and setting up safety barriers to ensure a secure working environment. Handle hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut and install insulation products such as fiberglass, foam board, or spray foam. Support the installation of various insulation types on walls, ceilings, attics, and other designated areas following blueprints and schematics. Help with site cleanup and material disposal to maintain a tidy work area throughout the project duration. Learn to read construction blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements accurately. Assist with other construction tasks such as framing, drywall installation, or caulking as needed under supervision.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; prior construction site experience is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to operate hand tools (e.g., knives, hammers) and power tools safely and effectively. Basic understanding of construction processes including blueprint reading and schematic interpretation. Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in learning about insulation materials and installation techniques. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. Willingness to follow safety protocols diligently and work as part of a team in various weather conditions. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with construction estimating, plastering, metal stud framing, roofing, HVAC systems, drywall finishing, masonry, airless paint spraying, trim carpentry, stucco application, caulking techniques, fabrication processes, carpentry skills—including frame carpentry—and knowledge of schematics.
