JOB TITLE:


Service Technician


JOB SUMMARY:


Provide service, troubleshooting, repair, calibrations and training of control valves and instrumentation as requested by IAC customers.


• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide service/repairs/calibrations and/or training to IAC customers.

• Visually inspect, test and recommend changes if necessary to insure required installation meets manufactures’ standards for operation.

• Observe processes, apply and develop tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipment, prepare reports and discuss findings with customer or sales representative, make changes or adjustments to improve operation or offer a course of action to resolve problems.

• Dismantle defective valves and instrumentation and replace with new or repaired parts per the manufactures’ procedures.

• Assemble, repair and/or replace related instrumentation and associated equipment.

• Directs installers on the proper placement of equipment according to drawings and equipment manufactures’ recommendation.

• Prepare various reports to include service trips, expenses, calibration, troubleshooting, or other reports requested by management

• Travel to any location within the service territory.

• Seek out new potential customers for service, by internet, phone or cold calling.

• Keep in contact with current service customers, consistently offering services.

• Monitor past service jobs to ensure customer is satisfied with the end result.

• Keep all certifications current by attending classes, sending in paperwork etc.

• Determine customer service requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific repair products and solutions.

• Recommend alternate service options based on cost, availability or specifications.

• Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers' profitability profile.

• Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team.

• Follow company policies and procedures.

• Always present a professional image to customers and vendors.

• Remain current on consumer preferences by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals.

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or shutdown schedules as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field or technical position.

• Certifications- Confined Space Certification, MSHA Certification. (Can be provided)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems

• Experience with calibration equipment and test instruments

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic systems

• Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic tools, and calibration devices

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


• The service position requires the physical ability to get into small spaces, climb ladders, and be in other physically demanding positions.

• May require long periods of traveling in a car or plane.

• Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to heat, noise, and outdoor conditions

• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
