DIRECT REPORTS: None LOCATION: Mukwonago, WI
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, facility systems, and infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient operations at IDC. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and maintaining a high standard of safety and quality in a precision manufacturing environment.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBITIES:
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on CNC machines, production equipment, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely, effective repairs
- Assist with machine setup, installation, and commissioning
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Execute and document preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance
Facilities Maintenance
- Maintain building systems including HVAC, lighting, compressed air, and plumbing
- Perform general facility repairs and upkeep as needed
- Support upkeep of grounds and exterior areas when required
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA and IDC safety standards and procedures
- Identify and address safety risks or hazards immediately
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and maintenance practices
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Vendor & Team Collaboration
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or services
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding equipment status and repairs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certification or associate degree in maintenance, industrial technology, or related field preferred
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (CNC experience preferred)
Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with CNC equipment, PLCs, and industrial systems preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
